Birthday Bash Celebrates Past, Present and Future

Gulfport, you don't look a day over 50. Happy 102nd Birthday! From the Worthington Fish Fry to dishing out cake, the Birthday Bash highlighted many Gulfport traditions. Check out our photos and add your own!

The annual Birthday Bash featured a raising of the flag by the American Legion Post 125, special performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" by Elizsbeth Brown Worthington and memorial dedication ceremony for Mary Atkinson, one of the founding members of the Gulfport Historical Society.

The plaque is surrounded by three trees to represent the past, present and future, Lynne Brown said. The plaque reads, "Forever Volunteer."

The event also feature the traditional Worthington Fish Fry, mullet toss and children's chalk art contest.
