Today in Gulfport: Teen Council, Swing Dance, Free Bike Helmets
It's Wednesday, Oct. 9! Here's what you need to know today in Gulfport.
Swing Dance: Swing Time hosts the weekly Swing Dance at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom from 6 - 11 p.m. Admission is just $7 per person. For more information check out www.swingtime.info.
Gas Dropping Below $3?: If the current downward trend in pricing keeps up, the Tampa Bay area should see a drop below the $3 mark by the end of the month, according to TBO. Would you be motivated to drive more if the prices drop? Tell us by commenting below!
Free Bike Helmets at Amscot locations: Here’s one for your calendar. Tampa Bay area Amscot Financial offices are teaming up with local law enforcement agencies to give away free bike helmets to kids on Saturday, Oct. 19. The giveaway is for kids in pre-school through elementary school and takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at several locations in the Bay area. Check out the Amscot website for more details and a full list of participating locations.
Cooler Temperatures on the Way: Look for a slight cool down in temperatures as the workweek continues. Forecasters at the National Weather Service say highs will hover in the upper 80s, which is a tiny break from the solid 90s Tampa Bay has seen as of late. Rain chances are scant for Wednesday, Oct. 9, too.
