It's Friday, Sept. 6! Here's what you need to know today in Gulfport.

Friday Art Walk: That's right! It's Friday, Sept. 6 - which means the First Friday Art Walk is tonight at 6 p.m. Be sure to come hungry and ready to spend some cash! There's dozens of vendors featuring hand-made items, home decor and art. Also, Gulfport is known for lovely and delicious local restaurants!

"Keep Gulfport Weird:" It's that time of year again! The "Keep Gulfport Weird" Mini Triathlon is on Saturday, Sept. 28! Registration is now open for this family-friendly event. Register for $10 and you'll receive a cool bright orange t-shirt with "Keep Gulfport Weird" on in! Registration is due by Sept. 20 for those wanting a t-shirt.  To get a registration, go online at www.mygulfport.us. Please go to the Events menu, then upcoming events,  then Keep Gulfport Weird Triathlon, "2013 Keep Gulfport Weird Mini-Triathlon registration."

Special Guest at the Gulfport Public Library: Mark your calendars for a special event. Acclaimed Florida author Tim Dorsey will be gracing the library with his presence Thursday, September 19 at 7pm! Check out his new book Electric Barracuda and reserve your spot to hear him speak by calling Alex at 727-893-1073.
