Live Music in Gulfport: Several Gulfport hot spots are hosting live entertainment tonight! J's is hosting Rob Irie from 6 -1 0 p.m. tonight while "The Boat of Us" will be playing at The "G" Spot Gourmet Tapas & Gelato from 7 - 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Gecko Ball: Get ready to boogie the night away in Gulfport! The annual Gecko Ball kicks off Saturday night at 6 p.m. at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom. The theme, "Gecko Night Fever," is sure to provide a colorful backdrop for the evening on the bay. Tickets are SOLD OUT! Those who are going are encouraged to bring cash for the cash bar, silent auction and live auction of geckos created by local artists.

Beach Beast 5K: There's still time to sign up for the 5K on Saturday, August 24 in St. Pete Beach. The Postcard Inn is hosting the "Beach Beast 5K" which is a 5K obstacle course. For more information call The Postcard Inn at (727) 367-2711.

Summer Weather Continues: Those hoping for a break from afternoon storms might be out of luck today. The National Weather Service says we have about a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. On the upside, the earlier part of the day should be pretty sunny with a high in the low 90s.
