Scott’s Gator Hunt is Off: Florida Gov. Rick Scott won’t charge supporters $25,000 each to join him on a gator hunt later this fall. Huffington Post Miami says the pricey event was taken off the books after questions about the logistics of such a fundraiser were brought to light. The state only allows 5,000 gator hunt permits during alligator season, which runs through Nov. 1.

Save the Rays: Sports radio 98.7 The Fan wants to make sure Major League Baseball knows Tampa Bay wants to keep its Rays. That’s why it’s kicked off a campaign and petition drive, according to St. Pete Patch. Think the Rays are worth keeping in the Bay area? Sign the petition here.

Friday Rain a Good Possibility: The chances for scattered thunderstorms are once again in the 30 percent range as Friday, Sept. 13 gets under way. The chances increase even more on Saturday, so be sure to keep that umbrella handy!
