Join us on Friday, May 3rd as Brenda McMahon Gallery celebrates five years at the heart of Gulfport's blossoming creative scene! Festivities begin at 6 o'clock and feature live music by Dean Johanesen and the introduction of Featured Artist Cynthia Dugat's unique, coffee grain portraits into the Gallery.
Visitors will also be treated to a sneak peek inside our new, larger artistic space, as we continue our expansion into our neighboring location (formerly Custom House Decor), showcasing more of the award-winning artists you've come to know and love, as well as new artists and creators from throughout the region. We'll also have fabulous free music by Gallery favorite Dean Johanesen. He'll be on the Stage at 2901 playing his infectious swing music. Gulfport artist Karen Love will be leading the class. This month’s painting is this brightly colored Florida Pelican. This will be the last Sip, Chat &amp; Paint until September 2024.
REGISTRATION $30 (plus a small convenience fee) Supports the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation. NO REFUNDS
Grab a friend and come out for an evening of fun while you create a work of art you’ll be proud to hang on your wall or give as a gift. Class is held in the spacious dining hall at the Senior Center. Refreshments are included: Tasty snacks and a selection of wines. The class size is limited to 24, so we suggest you sign up early due to the popularity of this fun-raiser. All supplies are provided.
Online registration for this fun-raiser is only $30 plus a small convenience fee. “Acoustic Guitarist of the Year” and celebrated singer/songwriter Christie Lenée is more than a musician – she’s an experience. Symphonic compositions flow from her fingertips effortlessly, with sound ranging from transcendental folk-pop to virtuosic instrumentals.
The Gulfport Senior Center Foundation and the Gulfport Senior Center have joined hands to create this Performing Arts Series to benefit the Senior Center Building Campaign Fund.
Lenee’s newly released album Coming Alive reminds devout listeners of her spiritual and sublime songwriting, inspirational lyrics, and of course, sensational guitar playing. The first line of the intro title track (“I’ve got a feeling deep inside”), tells you everything you need to know: Lenée’s sixth album is a chronicle of joy and hope, of self-confidence and empowerment, of renewal and light.

An award winning actor, writer, producer, host, and comedian, Flynn started out as a professional soccer player and made the transition to standup comedian by winning the prestigious Boston Comedy Riot. Since that time, Kevin has gone on to make numerous television and film appearances as a comedian and actor. 
Kevin can be seen as The Wedding Coordinator in The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller; in Me, Myself and Irene with Jim Carrey; in Osmosis Jones with Bill Murray; and as Charlotte’s Boyfriend in HBO’s Sex and the City. His character, Bram Walker, was voted one of the most popular boyfriends in the series. Kevin recently completed a role in the movie The World’s Greatest Beer Run with Russell Crowe and Zac Efron set for release in the next few months. 
While constantly acting and performing standup around the country, Kevin also works as a host and entertainer in the sports world. Flynn has covered World Cup Soccer for Fox Sports, ESPN, and ABC. Flynn’s show, Sports Figures on ESPN, received the POLK Award for excellence in children’s programming. He also created a weekly sports podcast for the ESPN Network called Over the Ball. The show combines the worlds of soccer, comedy, and entertainment. The show has been named MLS Talk Show of the Year. 
In 1996, Kevin was the host of The Discovery Channel’s Go For It, an extreme outdoor adventure show where he swam with sharks, jumped out of airplanes, and scaled dangerous peaks. The show led Kevin to create his first one-man show, The Go For It Guy, which won the Best of Fest at the Boston Comedy Festival and HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Kevin is currently touring nationally with his latest one-man show, Fear of Heights—A Very Funny Phobia 
Along with continually performing his stand-up, Kevin is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Nantucket Comedy Festival. Each summer, the festival brings top comedic talent to Nantucket Island as the major fundraiser for Stand Up &amp; Learn TM, an island-based, year-round comedy education program serving Nantucket’s children.
