Thousands attended the Gulfport's Get Rescued free daytime event and more than 200 people continued to celebrate Saturday night, proving that even after a busy day, people wanted to raise money for a good cause. Donors and friends took the party indoors to the Gulfport Casino Ballroom for the Get Rescued Celebration from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday night. The evening event featured multiple tables of silent-auction donated items, gift baskets, artwork and gift certificates to area businesses. 15 rescue groups set up their tables, each responsible for obtaining their own silent auction items. …
