German Transplant Can San Trantow Discovers Purpose in Gulfport

Can San Trantow is a holistic healer with a headquarters located right here in Gulfport.

Prior to 2001, Can San Trantow was not sure of his calling, much less where to take root. Trantow lived in Germany at the time and was learning about holistic healing. The idea of a career in the field was never something he took seriously. “I didn’t know what I was searching for,” said Trantow. “I was young and I thought all of this spiritual stuff was just crazy.” In his youth, Trantow studied his passion for art, painting and even graphic design. However, he vividly remembers a void in his life. Regardless of what he was doing or pursuing, Trantow said, “there was always something that did not fulfill me.” Over time Trantow’s view of the holistic world transformed. He began to study holistic healings as well as the art of meditation. …

With all the local restaurants and made-to-order specialties in and near Gulfport, we know you have an important decision to make! Where to have breakfast, lunch or dinner right here in town. Each week, we'll fill you in on something delicious! If you love eggs, veggies and cheese, you'll love one of Stella's quiche de jour options on their menu. There's always more than one option, but on this day I ordered the vegetable and goat cheese dish with a side of hash browns. The quiche de jour is $5.95 with a side of either hash browns, home fries or grits. The portion is well worth that price and the "surprise" combination is a winner for my taste buds! Eckerd College Student Busted In Online Child Sex Sting

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31 men in the online child predator sting, including a lieutenant commander of the U.S. Coast Guard JAG Miami unit.

An Eckerd College student is among the suspects facing child predator charges in a large sting operated by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. Kevin Williams, 21, of 25 Seton Road, Irvine, Calif., who is listed as a student at Eckerd College in Pinellas County, was arrested after allegedly SMS messaging and sending e-mails to arrange a sexual encounter with an undercover officer claiming to be a 14-year-old girl. Williams' arrest was part of sting called Operation Intercept, which involved detectives posing online as minors and posting ads in chat rooms, message boards, Facebook and other places online. Patch RV Coming to City Near You

The Patch RV is in St. Petersburg, Gulfport and the beaches collecting canned goods for Feeding America Tampa Bay. We're also having a great time meeting readers.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's ... the green machine?  The giant Patch RV – 31 feet long and 8 feet wide – is lumbering through the south Pinellas towns we cover. We are making stops at local events and visiting businesses and organizations. Join Gulfport Patch at BCYC 'Fun Day'

Gulfport Patch will be at the annual Boca Ciega Yacht Club Fun Day in Gulfport on Saturday, April 28 from 1 - 4 p.m. Come for free hot dogs, drinks and sailboat rides!
