Remember my love for snacking on chickpeas? Well here’s a new recipe for the healthy snack, altered a bit to encompass some of my favorite flavors of fall!
If you aren’t familiar with chickpeas, you should know they are a member of the beans/legumes family, have a bit of protein, and are better than snacking on potato chips or other processed foods. For these reasons, I think they make the perfect snack.
So when it came to thinking up a yummy cinnamon sweet, yet healthy snack, I knew just what to make! They are buttery, salty sweet and mmm good!
Health Benefits
Chickpeas-(also known as Garbanzo beans) one of the most nutritious of all legumes, high in calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. Exceptionally high in iron and Vitamin C. Rich in essential fatty acids and provide fat free quality protein.
Give these chickpeas a try. You won’t believe how simple they are to make, yet crunchy and flavorful for the perfect snack.
Maple Cinnamon Chickpeas

1 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp sea salt
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°. In a bowl, toss chickpeas with melted butter and remaining ingredients. Toss to coat. Spread seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on rimmed baking sheet or baking pan. Roast in the oven, shaking the pan occasionally, or using a spatula to turn chickpeas until they begin brown (about 20-25 minutes). Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Try not to eat all at once.
