I have discovered how to give myself an incredible deep tissue foot massage. I do this before aerobics and it is the best thing I have discovered since girls, way back when. It's perfect for us single folks and doesn't cost a dime.
Wearing Five Fingers, socks, or nothing, it doesn't work in shoes, find a street curb. Standing, place your foot on the top edge of the curb. The edge needs to be a sharp 45 degree angle edge, not the rounded kind and it's best if it is unbroken or unchipped.
Standing, place either foot on the corner top edge, just under the ball of your foot, at the upper most section of the arch, with the knee and foot rolled slightly to the inside, so as to present the arch to the edge.
Feel for the angle that fits just right. This will require listening to your body. Once you find that just-right-fit angle, begin walking your arch from top to bottom over the edge of the curb. Gently work it with only slight pressure at first, down the arch then back up the arch, increasing and concentrating depth and pressure based on where it feels the best. Do this several times until the arch has been fully kneaded and relieved of stress-induced stiffness then repeat with the other foot.
I typically repeat three to four times on each arch and my feet always feel like new afterwards. It is a daily routine and let me tell you, Better Than Chocolate when you get it right!
