(VIDEO) Wounded Vet Honors Fallen Soldier
VETSports Vice President and wounded veteran Brian Taylor Urruela is helping raise money for veterans and his friend, Major David Taylor, who was killed in action in Iraq.
Brian Taylor Urruela, Vice President of VETSports, is going to hit the volleyball courts on Sunday, Nov. 11 for the Inaugural Beach Volleyball Benefit. Members of the Gulfport Police Department and Fire Department will face off against veterans with VETSports to help raise money for the non-profit wounded vets and the Tampa family of Major David Taylor.
Brian Urruela was serving with Major David Taylor in Iraq in 2006 when an improvised explosive device hit their Humvee. Urruela survived the attack but had his right leg amputated below the knee as a result of the injuries. His friend did not. The explosion happened just two days before they were to return home.

The benefit begins at 1 p.m. with opening ceremonies on Veterans Day at the Gulfport Beach volleyball courts.
