'Redneck' Reality Show Filmed in Gulfport Gets Air Date

The Blueberry Patch, along with Gulfport residents, will appear in an all-new episode of 'My Big Redneck Vacation,' on the CMT.

Pack your bags, y’all! The Clampets are takin’ a road trip!

America’s favorite redneck family is taking a cross-country road trip in season three of "My Big Redneck Vacation."

And one of their stops is none other than Gulfport, Florida!

Tom Arnold returns as host of the 13-episode season, following the Clampets on their road trip as they journey to new places including Miami’s South Beach, Washington, D.C., Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, a dude ranch in Colorado, Area 51 in Nevada, a Native American Indian reservation in the Grand Canyon and more.

In this all-new episode, after passing over the Skyway Bridge in St. Petersburg, Fla., the bus pulls up in front of an obscure gate that reads “The Blueberry Patch loves you.”

Upon entering the “eclectic” yard decorated by garbage recycled into “art,” it doesn’t take long for the family members to realize they’ve landed in a hippie commune.

From sharing circles to body painting to “spiritual hunting, this family is in for a real eye-opening weekend as they are immersed into the Blueberry Patch community and culture. Groovy!

The Blueberry Patch is famous in Gulfport. Now it's about to become nationally known by viewers of the reality show. It's the 1960s redux.

This all-new episode of "My Big Redneck Vacation" premieres Saturday, February 2, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.

It was a blast to be there during the main shoot. But for anyone who watches this episode, know that it really IS a hit TV show with actors and directors. We who were there often had lines given to us to speak. So some of us are a little nervous we may look, ummm, kind of silly and not in true character, but know it was a hoot and we were all having great fun. The "Rednecks" and the crew loved Gulfport and really enjoyed themselves among us "hippies." They sure drink a lot of beer, that's for sure.

I saw myself in the season premier clip they put out. Oh my, I am going to be so embarrassed!!! But it was fun and will put Gulfport in front of millions of viewers around the world.

looks like pinellas park has lost their 'title' to the new 'redneck' village, which is also, romantic, calming, fun, weird, friendly, delicious, - a little town with a big heart.

My husband can relate. He's been trying to turn our home into a redneck haven since we got married 20 years ago, much to the dismay of his ever-patient wife! Now he calls it a "studio" to explain away why we collect so much junk. ALL POTENTIAL ART!

A lot of us are VERY proud of the Blueberry Patch, and for good reason. The Blueberry Patch is an amazing place dedicated to music, art, creativity, sharing, recycling, and just plain old good wholesome fun. They introduce Gulfport to a vast number of people who would otherwise never know we exist. As for CMT's "My Big Redneck Vacation" and why it is their number one hit TV Show, who knows. But it is, and according to the production manager who directed the events at the Blueberry Patch filming, there are millions of people world-wide who eagerly watch this show every week. So a silly, even goofy simple show like this has value. It reminds me Gilligan's Island. Also know the "Rednecks" are TV stars in their third season. They look the parts they play, but we saw how incredible professional and experienced the entire team was.

I watched the show Saturday and laughed my behind off! We knew they'd be making fun of us, and themselves, so that was no surprise. We had no idea what they were going to do, and they did present the Blueberry Patch as a "commune" which was totally made up, but the show was fun to watch and the cameras picked up the color and vibrancy of the venue. I hoped they'd show more about Gulfport, of course. They took a lot of video of the downtwon and beach area and that did not make into the show. However, the Bluebbery Patch website and GulfportFlorida.us has experienced, and is still experiencing record breaking web traffic. So this national attention is reaping great rewards for the promotion of Gulfport. On my Gulfport website, one of the most popular keywords people have been searching is "where is Gulfport, FL". That means a large number of people who had never heard of us are checking out our town. In two days we already surpassed the Best of the Road web traffic that was the second most important media event for us. Woo hoooo!
