Political Signs, City Budget, One-Act Plays

Here's what you need to know today, Thursday, July 19!

 

Political Signs: The Gulfport City Council will discuss proposed changes to the Code of Ordinances regarding temporary signs today at 3:30 p.m. during the City Council Workshop. Major changes listed in the agenda include taking out the information about unattended signs in front of polling places. To view the entire agenda, check out the City of Gulfport website.

City Budget: The FY 2012/2013 General Fund Budget is also on the agenda for today's workshop at Gulfport City Hall. Learn more about the City Manager's proposal on our story "City Fees to Increase, Reserves Remain Untouched." Gulfport CERT: The monthly Gulfport CERT Meeting is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Gulfport City Hall.

Summer One Acts: This is your last weekend to catch the "Summer One Acts" at the Catherine Hickman Theater in Gulfport. Tickets are just $15 to see 10 one-act plays. Shows are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can buy tickets in advance at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom, Beach Bazaar and the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce. Reserve seats by calling (727) 322-0316.

Thursday Forecast: We have a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Otherwise, it'll be mostly sunny with a high near 90. Tonight, it'll be partly cloudy with a low around 80.
