Gulfport pulled out all the stops in celebrating America's 235th birthday today. There were all sorts of events at the beach and at the casino and along the downtown streets highlighted by an antique car show and a parade.

The day was culminated with fireworks off the waterfront.

Red, white and blue were the colors of the day and men, women, children and even dogs got into the patriotic spirit.

About this column: Each week Gulfport Patch will share photos of events, people and places in Gulfport.
