UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Southern Pinellas County until 9 p.m. The NWS Doppler Radar indicated a tornado near Fort Desoto Park moving north at 45 mph.

A Patch reader spotted a water spout off St. Pete Beach around 8:10 p.m.

Be careful today. Rain and more rain. And now a tornado watch is issued for Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

Tropical Storm Debby is on a path for Louisiana, but it does not feel that way today in Gulfport and across Pinellas County.

The forecast calls for rain and isolated thunderstorms with highs in the mid 80s. Chance of rain is near 100 percent, with wind gusts up to 25 mph.

Monday will be slightly better, with the temperatures in the 80s and an 80 percent chance of rain.

Tropical Storm Debby is already the fourth named weather system of the season. This is the first time four tropical storms have occurred prior to July 1 since records have been kept.
