Dean Darby Dickerson to Leave Stetson in July

Stetson University College of Law Vice President and Dean Darby Dickerson announced plans today to leave and join Texas Tech University School of Law as Dean in July 2011.

According to a news release on the university's website, Darby Dickerson, Stetson University College of Law Vice President and Dean, is leaving Stetson this July. Dickerson will become Dean of Texas Tech University School of Law. She will also hold the W. Frank Newton Endowed Professorship.

The news release explains that Dickerson has been dean of Stetson Law since February of 2004. She served as interim dean in 2003.

“I want to thank Stetson for the many wonderful opportunities it has provided me over the years. It is an amazing school that I am proud to have served. Deciding to leave was difficult, but Texas Tech is a compelling institution that quickly felt like a great match,” said Dean Dickerson in the news release.

Harlan "Butch" Paul, chairman of the Stetson University Board of Trustees said they will name an interim dean as they plan out their national search for a replacement.
