Here are five places open on New Year's Day:

1.) Dunkin' Donuts: If you need a pick me up after a late night out, you can stop by Dunkin' Donuts today starting at 5 a.m. The location in South Pasadena at 1200 Pasadena Ave will be open. Don't forget, they have a full menu including new sausage pancake bites - now that's portion control . . . kind of!

2.) Starbucks: There's still time to try the holiday flavors at your local Starbucks. You can stop in today and grab a gingerbread latte or peppermint mocha - even a skinny peppermint mocha to cut back on a few calories in 2013! The nearest Starbucks to Gulfport is at 6575 Central Ave. S.

3.) Walgreens: This is your one-stop-shop for last minute items - maybe something to sooth your headache or soar throat from cheering the night before. The Walgreens in Gulfport is located at 5701 Gulfport Blvd. S. 4.) Publix: Start off the year right with fresh fruit and veggies from Publix! Stores in some Florida counties will open at 7 a.m., however in Pinellas, they will open at 9 a.m. - regular business hours. The nearest Publix to Gulfport is in South Pasadena at 1075 Pasadena Ave S.

5.) Catch a Movie: Baywalk 20 and IMAX is showing Hobbit, Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away and Monsters Inc in 3D, along with other family-friendly movies such as Guilt Trip and Les Miserables. Check out the website for show times and tickets.
