PROGRESS FOR THE GULFPORT MULTIPURPOSE SENIOR CENTER FOUNDATION
By Michael Audino       February 11, 2013

The Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation has embarked on a new and exciting journey.

On January 31, the Foundation’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to retain Ms. Jane Ogilvie as the organization’s first Executive Director.  In this capacity, Ms. Ogilvie will be responsible for leadership and management of the Foundation, communicate and drive the Foundation’s vision, develop and manage the organization’s budget, direct the day-to-day activities of any paid staff and/or subcontractors, and recruit and lead volunteers.

Ms. Ogilvie will also provide leadership in securing the financial resources necessary to support the Foundation’s work and maintaining relationships with the Foundation’s constituents.

“The Foundation is embarking on a bold and visionary pathway and having Jane at the helm will help ensure we navigate that path with clarity, poise, and professionalism”, noted Michael Audino, the Foundation’s President.  “Jane’s passion for the Foundation’s mission, her commitment to the work of the Senior Center, and her concern for the older residents of Gulfport make her the ideal person to serve as our first Executive Director”, noted Audino.

“I am humbled and honored by the Board’s decision and grateful for their extraordinary vote of confidence in me”, said Ogilvie.  “The Foundation has accomplished a lot for Gulfport and the Senior Center and I am totally confident we will accomplish even greater things in the future”, Ogilvie noted.

The Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation is a Gulfport-based, nonprofit organization.  The organization was founded in 2003 and Ms. Ogilvie was one of the founding members.  The Foundation’s mission is to “raise and distribute funds that support and enhance the health, educational, social and recreational programs and services of the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center.”
